This has worked on a handful of occasions, by setting the BIOS system time & date accordingly.
However, as a result, certificate errors when navigating via secure sites can be experienced.

You hit the nail on the head mothered. It works as an option for some of the repairs I do. But it is so much more convenient to have a working copy. No certificate errors. Most of the programs will update. It helps Face run better. With the updates to 10 especially the feature updates it is just easier to work with a current one even for simple things sometimes the default services reset works locally and sometimes it doesn't. If someone could post a working new version it would make my day. Other programs like UBC and Hirens work for some. There are also about a dozen different linux based boot/repair disks also but to keep trying until one finally does the job is frustrating.
