Mine is as close as it gets, I only left out Assembly part. Well for starters your own definition contradicts yourself. Perl, Python, and PHP all compile to some form of bytecode. So by stating that a language must be compiled to byte code makes it a programming language, so by your own definition they are programming languages. All three scripts are run by interpreters, a compiler doesn't touch them at all. I don't think you know what byte code is(Its not the buffer of a file). You're mislead sir. You seem to be completely ignorant of how the system, compilers, virtual machines, and interpreters work. These "interpreters" you speak of, compile the code to bytecode, and then get executed by their respective tools. Python language, for example, is converted to bytecode, and then run on the Python virtual machine much like Java is. although to my knowledge it doesnt actually store the intermediary file like java does (the *.class file). PHP since version 4 has used the Zend Engine to do the same thing, and since Perl 6 the Parrot virtual machine has been used to interpret the Perl 6 bytecode. And if you want an accurate definition of the two: A compiled language takes higher level code and converts it into machine code in one fell swoop, and can be executed directly on the machine without any further intervention. A scripting language, uses an intermediary to convert the code in REAL TIME. every time the code is executed, it is re-interpreted into machine code. You are thus always reliant on a third party to convert the actual code into machine code. (such as the Python VM or Parrot VM). The fact that you don't know this, really overshaddows your claim to be someone who can code in assembly. If this were the case you would know this. RE: fagcommunity.rocks - Blunt - 11-30-2014 ROFL Straight up dopeamine , you super fucked yourself in this thread haha RE: fagcommunity.rocks - dopamine - 11-30-2014 (11-30-2014, 06:41 PM)The Toilet Paper King Wrote: I don't think you know anything on the subject at all. If this is the case then .NET and Java can also be counted as scripting languages but then this whole division of languages doesn't make any sense. What does Assembly have to do with knowing how every software works? I haven't looked at disassembly of php perl or python so I can't know how they work inside I just know that its a interpreter because that is the only way I know how to make such a thing like python or php. You can't even code kid. RE: fagcommunity.rocks - Blunt - 11-30-2014 (11-30-2014, 06:48 PM)dopamine Wrote: What you explained is .NET and Java. Please provide more proof. RE: fagcommunity.rocks - Psycho_Coder - 11-30-2014 Haha I wonder why this Mr dopamine is still here and has not been banned. He thinks of himself as if he is the pioneer of programming and even lecturing me on HC about what I should work and what I shouldn't work. This guy takes himself as if he is among the great living programming minds of the 21st century. Only he is right and everyone else is wrong. This guy talks a lot about being Awesome and a genius and takes for granted that others are script kiddies. But imho he is the biggest SKID around this place now. Who just signed up on twitter and desperately needs followers to follow him on twitter and therefore he posts his twitter profile link with his every posts. I guess that already proves what I wanted to prove.
