Pick a specific type of hacking and find a book on that specific field. I also do not care for the term noob either. I think it's only used by people who either want to hide the fact that they just barely learned something themselves or it's said by the most selfish individuals who have great talent/skills/knowledge and squander it so that they can have a sense of power and/or authority over others, so once again...thank you for being one of the few decent people out there to try to help the rest of us ![]() P.S. - I understand the purpose of the use of the word noob on this site for new people so I am not necessarily speaking towards this particular use. RE: Where to start with hacking! - akashkumar - 09-28-2013 Sir, you gave a very good explanation about were i need to put my effort. This post really help me I wanted some of your opinion, i have just stepped into this field and i know couple of programming languages like C, Python, Html and CSS, so i am just started and wanted to know what i need to know next. And can you please explain about the term Ethical Hacking and way to begin it and few good books to start with cause i am not taking a full time course on hacking i teach myself. And I also wanted to know that will it be really wrong to be a Gray Hat hacker if i break into unauthorized area's just to inform that they have flaw's in their system and not do any damage to them........obviously when i will be experienced enough in this field. Thank, You RE: Where to start with hacking! - Anima Templi - 09-28-2013 (09-28-2013, 01:13 PM)akashkumar Wrote: Sir, you gave a very good explanation about were i need to put my effort. This post really help me First off, I bet my hat that you don't know C and Python. It takes years to master a programming language. This is something I see really often, we do not care how many programming languages you "know". But I'm 100% sure that you haven't nearly scratched the surface of programming. You don't "know" a programming language just by being able to write a "Hello, World!" program. Second, ethical hacking? Ethical hacking is when hacking for a good cause. You help people securing their networks, services and products. They might contact you to do the job for them, or you have found a flaw in one of their systems and you immediately contact them to inform them about it. Where to go now? It all depends on what you are interested in. Do you find web application security interesting work with that, do you like programming, do that! You get my point? Only you can decide where to go from now. Yes, we will help you if you need guidance, but you will have to make this journey on own. If you can't study on your own you won't make it past the "skid" level. You don't need top notch specs. So my answer will be "yes". |
