RE: The movies of 2017 - Llebacc - 10-25-2017 Blade Runner 2049 was the tits! They kept the artistic integrity of the first movie and produced a great new story. Ryan Gosling killed it as K. And there was more side-plot than the first Bladerunner had which was nice. To cap off the astounding writing and artistry, the movie was visually stunning the whole time, and the audio work beat the original BladeRunner in terms of score and atmosphere. Questions to ask after watching: Spoiler:
First: Was Joi (the AI) actually human-like, or was she simply saying everything K wanted to hear? Think about the gigantic purple Joi ad, with no data of K; it called him Joe, among telling him other comforting things. Second: Were all members of the replicant resistance implanted with the memory of the horse in the furnace? It seemed to be implied that every one of them thought they were the chosen one. Third: Despite finding out he wasn't born, at the end of the movie K is the one dying in and feeling real life snow, while the only born replicant in the world is stuck in a glass dome with virtual snow. What does this signify? Fourth: Is Deckard a replicant? God damnit. I don't want to wait another 20 years to find out. Old Harry will be dead by then. Time to buckle down and wait two decades for the next Blade Runner :'( RE: The movies of 2017 - --null-- - 10-25-2017 (06-20-2017, 09:51 AM)Jiggly Wrote: Dang, I've got so many films to catch up on. I can't wait to watch it Spur of the moment decision last night with a bud, it was cool, but I feel like some of the previous ones were better nonetheless. It won't disappoint so I'll still recommend it if you're into the series which I'm assuming you are. RE: The movies of 2017 - Defeat - 11-18-2017 Recently saw both Thor and The Justice League.
