I got glasses after high school :/

I'm not even mad though tbh lol every in my immediate family has em plus I look a bit better with them : P

The transition isn't too bad, after about 3 months,I think it became a norm for me.

That's what I'm concerned with- the transition. My glasses should be ready any day now, so I'll see what happens.

Everyone who's replied to this thread has been of big help with what to expect, and how to adjust when wearing glasses for the very first time.
Thank you.

You think he's joking. He actually does >.>

I will say though, I had such a good eye examiner (who was actually a student and probs younger than me), that this is the best set of lenses I've ever had. I did not believe you could get 4.0 diopters corrected to such an extent. It's like somebody finally worked out how to focus a camera for my left eye xD

@mothered Don't worry too much about the glasses, you will eventually get used to it . Maybe once you have stable income (maybe you have already) and are old enough (not assuming ages) you could consider fixing your eye sight via laser or some other therapy? :0

Thanks for the advice.

I've heard a lot about laser eye surgery and nowadays, It's very successful. It's an option I'll consider In future. My glasses finally arrived and I'm wearing them as I'm typing this. Whilst on the PC, there's no difference with or without them. However for long distance viewing, my goodness, It's a "huge" Improvement. I didn't realize how bad my eyes are (distant-wise) until I wore the glasses. I'm just getting used to them and all Is going great thus far.

A big thank you to everyone. Your advice Is priceless.

Welcome to the very stylish, and very permanent club. the first few days are pretty hard once you first get glasses; everything looks 4K and you feel off balanced and a bit dizzy until you get used to them. But after that its not so bad.

You're absolutely spot on.

When I wore them on the first day and moving around, I was getting dizzy and things appeared to be on an angle. Focusing also took time from one point to another. It's been 3 days now and It's a lot better and somewhat starting to become second nature. I can't wait until I'm fully accustomed to wearing them.

@mothered Fun Fact. If you happen to not wear them for a while.. let's say maybe 1-2 weeks and you rewear them. You will most likely experience everything from the start again, but you will take noticeable less time to get accustomed again, since it's not your very very first time.

Having good eye sight is really important, since it's such a drop in life quality, if you can't see properly. x_x

Your fun fact Is so true, I've been told something similar to this from a good friend.

I don't need them for reading, but still wear them all day- just so I get accustomed to them thereby It becomes a way of life with no Issues.
