I know; he's advising people to shift directly from 5th to Reverse...

No, you shift to fifth and then into [R]acing.

Here's what I mean (taken off Google Images):

That's a column shifter (auto/semiauto)

It's basically a semi-automatic, but you go up and down gears with paddles, instead of a stick.

^ This is a paddle shifter

I guess it doesn't help if I told you that the car is a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster?

Which incidentally costs $980,000 AUD here in Australia? Wink I believe it is a half million dollar car in the US.

Awwwwwwwwh yeah.

Although, you can mess with the radio just as much... It takes like under 30 seconds to O.o In an automatic you could probably fit a whole new radio in the car whilst driving but in a manual you are limited to swapping CDs/volume and the usual xD

Omg Flappy paddles... They are cool man. If I had an automatic I would want the flappy paddles or I would cry.

In my country it is standard to learn with a gear stick as we call it here. I know a couple people with automatic but it is pretty rare.

To be honest, gear changes make learning a lot harder. I'm a competent driver (yet to past my test so we'll see how true that really is when I hopefully pass) but in tight spaces where you have to change speeds a lot and it's mega busy as fuck gear changes are a pain in the ass. I feel good about learning to change gears because I feel like I am learning more about the car and I know just that bit more about driving.

Comparatively, automatics look like a piece of piss. All you have to do is look at the road and your mirrors. It feels incredibly wrong not to have a clutch peddle when I've sat in someone's automatic. I don't know where to put my left foot xD I would love to give an automatic a go. But not Oni's car... I'm scared of it's ridiculous acceleration. Beast of a car.

I like my friends addition to their automatic gear stick in this car:
