I have a grade 5 in piano, had it since i was 12, but quit after so im stuck lol. I play the electric guitar with my my friends (we're a band) and we play mainly rock and sometimes metal. \m/

Well I have been a guitarist for about 10 years now.
I haven't been in any serious bands, just a few friends jamming together.
It's actually hard for me to find any band members since my style is really off mainstream, most people around me like to play power metal, trash, death metal and heavy metal.
What I like to play is progressive bluesy music, I find that it involves a lot more creativeness and actual skill on the guitar rather than just strumming a couple of chords and repetitive riffs, good examples to what I like to play are Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rush and Genesis.
Right now I'm really into writing lyrics, I find that Alter Bridge is a great band with really deep lyrical meaning.
Other than that I like viking/folk and symphonic metal. (Nightwish, Amon Amarth, Symphony X, and the list goes on and on).
