Yeah the Mac Filtering wouldn't help much until we have to deal with really low level Skid which doesn't know a lot about WI-Fi security :troll:

I dunno mate it depends in which country you live, where I live ISP's have pretty much secured it by adding WPS lock for like 5 minutes or when it locks it will be locked for few days or till you restart the router.

This was very helpful, I didn't actually configure my default router until I read this and it really came to my assumption that mine could be easily hacked.

Disabling WPS (Wifi Protection Setup) can be very important since it is just a hard coded numerical number that can be brute forced pretty fast using Reaver https://code.google.com/p/reaver-wps/...

True, but the Reaver hardly depends on the signal conditions you have.
If the routers wifi signal is good then it will be fast.But if its not so good and you still can connect, then it may last more than 1-2 days to crack it >> True Story <<, but still it will even if its WEP, WPA, WPA-2.
Also you can check for the WPS vulnerability doing that :

airmon-ng start wlan0
wash -i mon0Every wifi it appears after that is vulnerable on Reaver (WPS).
NOTE : Code I 've shown is for Kali linux, else you must install both Aircrack and Wash suites.

Thank for sharing this information. I never knew you could hide your signal by lowering the transmission power. The mac filtering, i heard about it, but i never tried it dam thing was complicated.

MAC Filtering is useless now days because you can simply by pass it if you know the MAC of the PC that's on the NETWORK, replacing your own MAC with that of the other PC will grant you instant access.. Not recommended though but it's worth mentioning because can be useful some times in a home network
