Completely out of the blue and no note. My friends are still speculating on his reasons... Whether it was drug addiction, depression, or murder, we're not sure. The woman he was living with had her previous husband die from, "suicide" as well. I totally think she's a black widow, but not many others are convinced. it really tore my friends apart mentally and emotionally...

Yeah. That is one thing I always feel bad for, people who kill themselves in the whim of a moment. If I was to kill myself I would at least try to explain my thoughts and do it in a way that wouldn't hurt others (e.g. When you jump in front of a train you "force" the train driver to kill you, and might traumatize him/her.

If you compare it to drug users, it could be argued that it should not be your choice. I mean, in a sense, with that logic anyone could do anything to themselves. There needs to be a lined drawn somewhere.

Yes, they usually fall into the category of people who do it without "proper" consideration. They're not thinking straight.

Also, gravedig. I'll accept it but let's see if oni does.

To me it seems that the people who say suicide is selfish are simply selfish themselves. If they are aware of the situation and fail to prevent the victim, then maybe it would be better for the victim itself and the people involved who are now suffering because of the victims problems (whether it is depression, substance abuse, or some other form of trauma). When the victim does kill him or herself they truly believe it is the only sense of freedom and relief, and that shouldn't be taken from them.

There's a film on Netflix called "How to Die in Oregon" which also deals with assisted suicide and makes quite the case for it. Either way, your life and your body are your own to do with as you please, though personally suicide is unappealing to me and not something I"ve ever seriously considered.

I've always frowned upon it. I feel like it's it's a selfish act and the people who do It don't take in to consideration the people they leave behind

I haven't seen it but, as I'm headed off to torrent anyway, I'll look it up.

Or schitzofrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder or ... Well, anything, really.
Could it be said that if you are schitzofrenic, your problem is permanent?
