You are talking about animation. Yes, you are correct about animation being shorten to anime , but when somebody is talking about "Anime" they are talking about Japanese anime. As seen here: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/anime https://myanimelist.net/search/all?q=Mike%2C%20Lu%20%26%20Og https://myanimelist.net/ https://www.masterani.me/ RE: What was your first Anime? - mothered - 10-11-2018 (10-11-2018, 03:55 AM)vex. Yes, both the terms "anime" & "animation" Is what I'm referring to. As stated In Wikipedia. Quote:In Japanese, the term anime refers to all forms of animation from around the world. I understand and agree with your point pertaining to Japanese anime. RE: What was your first Anime? - Despised - 10-11-2018 (10-11-2018, 08:33 AM)mothered Wrote:(10-11-2018, 03:55 AM)vex. Source: Wikipedia --- "a Japanese style of motion-picture animation, characterized by highly stylized, colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sexuality." is only anime and nothing else. "Japanese anime" is simply incorrect to say. Other cartoons aren't anime unless they are what I just quoted from Dictionary, com - also, anime and animation aren't the same. As you see It, each to their own. Moving back on-topic. RE: What was your first Anime? - Jiggly - 10-13-2018 I noticed a bunch of these shows are things many of us watched when we were younger. I did watch some of these when I was younger but didn't really count them as my intro to anime. There was a big gap between those and then getting into watching japanese cartoons with subs. Did anyone else have a massive gap as well or did you all continue to watch these shows as you got older? RE: What was your first Anime? - Yuji - 10-15-2018 Pokemon or sonic.
