For this purpose, any VPN will do.

The difference with paid VPNs for some providers, Is simply not limiting your bandwidth nor disconnecting every ex-amount of hours. Others may also offer more servers. Protection and the encryption grade remain the same between both paid & free.

Another factor that remains the same is the chance of the service keeping logs, being unfaithful to users, etc.

Agree.

A lot of free VPNs, such as Hotspotshield and CyberGhost do not store logs. Having said that, take It with a grain of salt- you never know what happens behind closed doors.

Nope not as in with the paid version I am using!

It may well be related to the free versions.

I'm going to activate the paid version In the next few days and see how It performs.
Appreciate your feedback.

Sorry for the late reply, no worries. Did you try it?

I have heard Hotspot Shield does log info and other stuff. They used to also have suspicious programs included in their installation a few years back. I use their apps with caution on my phone and their add-on for Firefox. I recommend Windscribe.

Cryptostorm is another VPN that is fairly good. They even have a free VPN service for you to try out which is the exact same as their normal VPN service, with the exception being that the speed is capped to an almost unusable level (it is meant for you to try the VPN before purchasing it).

You should never use VPN client software; always use the OpenVPN client. If the VPN provider does not maintain OpenVPN configuration files, then they are not worth it in the end.

All good, no problem whatsoever.

Yes, I have the paid version running on one system for a number of days now. I've kept a close eye on It, and I'm not experiencing the same Issue as It's free alternative. Perhaps It's too early to tell, but thus far, very stable and responsive.

Right, the paid version works wonders! I also think it to be better related to the choice for servers!
