In my experience, when In comparison to leading AVs (Kaspersky, Norton, Avira, ESET) Windows Defender would have to be one of the worst forms of protection.
It's Real Time protection Is terrible, with a very mediocre success rate In detecting malicious content.

I really expected better from an AV product (Windows 8 onward) defaulted by Microsoft.
Whilst It detects here and there, by no means Is It something you can actively rely on for the overall protection of your PC.
