In that case, you wouldn't have power to your home, water supply will be disrupted, If you work won't get paid (wire transfer), can't travel via airlines, your newly-purchased vehicle won't function, cell phone will be rendered useless etc.
Technology has somewhat taken over humanity. I'm glad you've mentioned "sometimes".

If your friends are ignoring you because they would rather be on their phone, it speaks more about them than technology. If a government/company is spying on you, it also speaks more about the government/company than technology. Blame people for using technology inappropriately, not technology itself.

One thing that amazes me is that there's almost no regulation to who can use computers so I have to deal with idiots all the time.
