RE: What software do you guys use? - NikitoGR - 07-12-2014 I use Dreamweaver. I haven't faced any issue with it. I just use the code tab, I don't touch the design tab, as it sucks. Real men (or devs), don't use sliders and kinds of fancy buttons etc(jk). Most times, are very bugged and they don't give you the freedom to design as you want it. Here's my workspace http://prntscr.com/41zjah . I'm just writing, nothing else, I haven't used (yet) any "preset" things. I like the auto complete, the suggestions, the tabs which show the linked css and js that are set in the source file and the "view in browser" feature. Last but not least, I really love the in built FTP file transfer, which uploads only the modified files. It also has a feature of applying source formatting, which is useful when the code is a bit messy. Everyone has different tastes, so anyone will use an environment which is most suitable and comfortable for the individual. RE: What software do you guys use? - waghcwb - 07-12-2014 For a lot of time i used Sublime Text, but now i'm using Brackets (it's free), and i love it  RE: What software do you guys use? - h3r0 - 07-16-2014 I would suggest using Sublime Text 3 because it's just tops. And on the subject of Wordpress, I would suggest learning Drupal instead. The templating system is better, easier to design, and WAY more powerful.. Also you can get responsive base themes like OMEGA to start off with. (In case you don't know what responsive design is) "Responsive web design (RWD) is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from mobile phones to desktop computer monitors)." RE: What software do you guys use? - blackeagle - 07-17-2014 i really like notepad++ but i don't think the software will matter it's just what you got used to use !! they'r all good !! RE: What software do you guys use? - The Real Slim Shady - 07-17-2014 Seems like the breakdown is pretty much Dreamweaver -- Notepad++ -- Sublime Text Me personally, I just use Mousepad and nano depending on my environment - any plain text editor will do for me though - those are just the default that ship with my OS. As for sites - I run a couple on wordpress, and a few others on miscellaneous backends - and ive written some myself. No preference really. Whatever the best tool for the job. RE: What software do you guys use? - kasakari - 07-17-2014 I have Dreamweaver, but I also use notepad++ alot. I have not tried sublimed yet. RE: What software do you guys use? - xXfireball127Xx - 07-27-2014 I tend to use notepad++ but lately I have gotten into using an IDE called Brackets. I would recommend Notepad++ though xD it is simple and works very very well! RE: What software do you guys use? - TinoDino101 - 07-27-2014 I use notepad. RE: What software do you guys use? - Isaac - 07-27-2014 You can't call yourself a "Web Developer" If you rely on things like Dreamweaver and Wordpress. |
