Where is this password you're talking about? Is it for the Windows account itself (admin) or Norton? No, I haven't. Is that a bad thing? Anyways, is that the F8 trick thing? Yeah you can run a new operating system... or a virus thats going to turn your computer's voltage around and cause it to explode and consequently burn your face and dick... Kind of. Just find a tutorial for installing a new operating system, it's pretty straightforward. Be sure to download your drivers on to a pendrive first though. It's a linux distro so Norton should not delete it, you should be able to burn it from the ISO. Then boot into that and do the sethc.exe trick. I don't get it. Im installing a new operating system? Explain this in more detail for me. I though I was installing a keylogger that won't be deleted by my Norton. RE: Administrator - cxS - 03-09-2013 KonBoot and Ophcrack are just boot utilities as far as you are concerned. Thus you are not "installing" any programs. And these are not keyloggers either. RE: Administrator - w00t - 03-09-2013 Let me simplify this for you. Windows does not protect your files, at all. By booting from a separate operating system that is not secured, you can then access all files. Ophcrack then takes the file with the stored hashes of passwords and attempts to crack the password. Konboot just bypasses the password part of Windows, and logs you into the admin account, automatically. OKOK, I got KOnboot set up and everything, but when I see the Boot Menu, which one do I pick? It isn't clear at all. Which is why you can see the System Volume Information and everything while in Linux if you have access to a Windows Installation. I use Linux to repair Windows lol. |
