This is sadly the way all marijuana debates go...
The lovers of it say there's nothing wrong with it at all.
The haters state that it will kill you and make your dick fall off.
Here's the truth folks from a person currently studying medical text books.
It can cause brain damage if overly abused, to an extent that you're a drooling dumbass.
It can also cause lung cancer (even though it has properties in it to kill cancerous cells) because while smoking it the cells grow at a faster rate than it can kill.
However if you ingest it through pot brownies or take it through various vapor methods you can cancel that effect.
And it can cause high level of munchies although it raises your metabolism, if you consume enough foods while high you can eventually become obese.
Now the good effects it's been known to have many curative properties, and has actually been shown to cure some levels of cancer.
So verdict it's okay to take as long as you're not a dumbass about it.

Yes it can cause "jail time" in certain Countries.
However for example the US is getting closer and closer to legalizing it.
The state I currently reside within is trying to legalize it for medicinal purposes.
And the state of Colorado is trying to legalize it to the point that you don't need a medical marijuana card to purchase it.
It's all a matter of circumstance, it only became illegal in the states due to the threat to the lumber industries because hemp posed a threat to paper.
So they spread lies upon lies until the government made it illegal.
And it's only stayed illegal since because it was virtually impossible to tax marijuana because the drug cartels were the ones selling it.
But now they figured using marijuana dispensaries they can grow it then tax it.
And many countries follow by the US example so if it becomes legal here it may eventually spread on over to other countries.
And the unemployment only happens with idiots who do not know how to use things in moderation.
The same thing happens due to over consumption of alcohol.
In fact alcohol has more bad side effects than marijuana.
So when you think about it alcohol should have been made illegal, before marijuana was ever even thought of being made illegal.

you know its really hard for me to be in favor of such reality escape drug when i had see what it does, but course i cant blame the drug alone when we are just soo weak to abuse drugs its on our nature that when we found something that makes us feel good we keep doing it, i will never do that crap its a waste of time and money and frankly is just idiotic, stupid and foolish. i respect your opinions i hope you guys dont end up as some of my family members and childhood friends.

I agree with your statements, because I have had family members destroyed due to such drugs.
However it's because of their own addictive personalities.
And as you stated it's just in our nature.
It's the way our brain is wired, some people may take it and boom their brain is so I guess you might say in love with that feeling of euphoria that when not on the drug it develops false pains just to get you to take in more and more.
It's through no fault other than that of our own that some thing that can be used for good can also be so bad at the same time.
Just as everything in this world it's a double edged knife, you may injure your attacker but you will also injure yourself, if you're not careful.

Everyone has their own way of seeing things.
That's why they call it personal opinion.
And addiction is not just drugs and so forth.
I was addicted to the internet for the longest time.
Growing up I never had any friends, or anything of that sort.
Granted I had a wonderful family and others would have killed to have been in my shoes, but I was just increasingly lonely, so when I got the chance I would spend days on the computer because it filled that void for a while talking to so many people, making friend like connections.
And so on.
That's why I was probably in my opinion the best moderator on this site at one point.
Because I spent 24 hours at a time cleaning up the boards, just constantly refreshing until I seen some thing against the ToS.
But then I gave up that for the pursuit of knowledge, and through that I learned to use the internet in moderation, that is why I am now returning.
So my point here is that addiction can be found within anything, you can even find it addictive to say, play with a ball of yarn.
So to humans anything has a possibility of being our personal "drug" the word drug is more or less just a subjective word.
