You're "TRAINING" her. I haven't heard anybody who uses Windows who needed to be trained. It sounds like fucking school. Linux is by far harder to use than Windows with a syntax and "way-around" sense if you already use Windows. Fortunately, I ain't a GUI nubcake. But, Windows won't go down without a fight, I'm sorry. Schools, universities, corporations use windows. Linux is too good to be true at the moment. RE: Downfall of Windows? - w00t - 01-16-2013 People need training to use Windows all the time. Not everyone grew up with computers in their life. In high school, we had one computer class for the entire school, and it wasn't easy to suddenly learn that, with a few clicks, I can send a message to someone across the world. If you grew up with computers, I suspect switching between the two would be as easy as it is for me now, since a whole lot of Linux distros are as easy, if not easier to use than Windows. Basically, some people need training to use any form of computer. Some people use a computer as a means to an end, and have no interest in learning what they're doing and how to do it on an OS that's any different, hence why people still use WinXP. That all depends on the distro, many Linux distros are easier than Windows. RE: Downfall of Windows? - Magic - 01-23-2013 Windows will always last as most games, programs and most everything computer is windows only. RE: Downfall of Windows? - w00t - 01-23-2013 Games are shifting to Unicies, and WINE covers most else. RE: Downfall of Windows? - n3cr0m4nc3r - 01-23-2013 I'm impressed with the amount of people using linux.... I have Ubuntu as a dual boot option but I rarely use it, only when I need it.
