Seems like the requirements are a little higher than the ones for win10, although not that much

You can read about the requirements here.

Those who have tried it: What do you think?

I haven't got particularly high or low expectations, though I certainly miss some of the navigation ease of Win7. With win10, I don't find things like the settings menus as intuitive as I'd like. It can be annoying to locate the setting I'm actually after, and I often don't bother to change things because it's so irksome. I find Win10 a little clunky and full of things I don't need, but that's probably always been the case with Windows. I'm more than happy enough to continue using Windows, though.

In my opinion, it will only get more gimmicky.

That would really suck... I would prefer to have something that is just nice to use. However, Linux just isn't a practical alternative for me.

Same exact thing here. Lots of stuff I don't need in Win8 and later editions. Plus the thing that Windows Updates are mandatory now, except if you alter the system beyond my liking, has driven me away from Windows on my personal PC. I still have a virtual machine with Win10 though, jsut for the compatibility with a few Windows only software.

RE: Windows 11 Leak - ConcernedCitizen - 06-28-2021

First: it requires Intel Core 8th Generation, AMD Ryzen 2000 series or later to run. Second, any Intel processor released before Q4 2017 can't run it, and also any AMD processor released before Q3 2018 can't run it either. This, of course, is based on the "accidental" leaking of the ISO test image and isn't the official nor trusted release because it originated from an unknown source at Microsoft, which could have been intentional at best, and at worse, tampered with. The words "it" and "leaked" don't coincide here because it's not verified, only assumed to be verified because soon after, the company (Microsoft) released a website and a few prototyping videos. Again, this should not be trusted for those reasons alone. They never said they accidentally released it or it was leaked unintentionally. Therefore, it's quite possible it is something else.

This tool does an excellent job In removing Windows components, and customizing the OS to your needs.

I've completely disabled the garbage Windows updates.

Stopping the Windows Update service and then removing all related files In the System32 directory, prevents all updates In Its entirety.

The VM isn't a bad shout. Might be food for thought.

I can't do without a VM.

If anyone requires assistance with the setup and configuration of VMware Workstation, VirtualBox and Hyper-V, let me know and I'll provide my very own step-by-step tutorials with supported Illustrations.
