Has pretty good specs even 2 years later. I still thought that you were on the Moto X Style (Pure Edition). I switched a Moto X4 back in 2017 and it has sufficient mid-range specs to last 2 to 3 years. I guess we're few of the people who like Motorola Devices with Stock Android. @OP: Why not give a try to the MiA2? It's a great device. if not, go for a Moto Z3 if it suits your budget. In fact, the best phone I've owned (and smallest In It's time) was the Motorola StarTAC In the late 90s. Spoiler:![]() I current have the Samsung Galaxy S7, which serves me well for general tasks and online navigation . Think at this point I think I'm set in getting the GPixel 3 XL but I want to make sure it is going to be nice and private as I'[m sure Google will want to soak up my info on their proprietary phone. Too much to mention. Have a look at my post #6 In this thread. And the second post here. Where applicable, It's applied to my cell phone. Of course, device encryption Is also part of the equation. There's more, but they're a good starting point. RE: Best choice of phone for end of 2018? - Jimbo39238 - 09-30-2018 The P20 Pro is honestly a great phone however does cost a fair bit. I personally use the P20 Lite and Pro, the Lite is so much better in terms of what you get for the price. From my experience, the fingerprint reader was a bit annoying in which sometimes it wouldn't detect my finger print. I just re-did the whole process of adding a fingerprint and haven't had an issue since. Other than that, I cannot think of any other issues I have faced with either one of my Huawei devices. I certainly believe that. Here's why: Given fingerprint scanners on a cell phone are so small, a "full" human fingerprint Is next to Impossible to match. As such, they only take "partial prints" just to make It easier to find a match. Typically, a cell phone will store around 10 fingerprint Images and at times, the scanner fails to properly Identify a partial Image. The vulnerability Is that a mismatch (on a "partial" print) can happen with anyone's finger swipe, hence unlock the device. It's beyond the scope of this post to elaborate fully (I may create a thread when time permits), but that's the basics of how the scanner operates. |
