I might make an award for people that registered on the forum within the first year and call it the Elderly award. 1 year is nothing and Sinisterly will continue for much longer than that. However, I'd like to give the people that gave us a head start an award.

That sounds like much better of an idea. It would be an example of the users that signed up to the board when it was new, and didn't come from an external source (I heard you bought a few sites and merged?).
Possibly only ones that are now active at least elite members? Otherwise you're giving awards to dead, 10 post accounts 3:
