If I may answer.

As with every VPN, It's "safer". For added anonymity, use the Double VPN option under Specialty Servers In the "Countries" menu. The connection Is routed through two servers (double encryption) before reaching It's destination. You may experience a slower speed, though.

If someone were doing something that dodgy, I wouldn't recommend just a VPN.

Yes I have and put It through quite a few tests.

It's double encryption serves It's purpose well, alternating your connectivity between TCP & UDP but as mentioned, It can Impact on speed.
Double would be good tho, but as you said it will kill the Internet Speed.
Thank you tho.

You can pick and choose when to enable double VPN.

Along with Tor and heaps of other anonymity measures, I only enable double VPN during serious exploitation. For anything else, I flick over to single.

Depending on what you're doing (which I don't want to know about) Don't even use your own IP. VPN that is bought via BTC with washed addresses. Use KRACK to exploit into somebodies WPA2 internet and use a throwaway laptop that has had a usb bootable Linux that automatically deletes your history for privacy

Be sure to do this from a location far from your own.

That Is, don't use your neighbors WiFi.

It's a good Idea to also spoof the MAC address.

And if you're paranoid, Hard-disk UUID number and HWID, too.

Although a Live OS will be used, If you're super paranoid (once the job Is complete), hit a low level format on the HDD against the underlying storage- targeting the disk sectors. Of course, smashing the HDD to bits will suffice.
