After the reset, what's exactly happening with the phone's functionality that's consistent with that of a RAT?

I noticed that the ringer starts going up and down on its own and background cache processes like media and core apps stay opened and I disabled all that I could running 7.0 android OS and dude I even checked the no system privileges no back ground data on it all and the RAT still functions it was moving my ringer up and down...

It's not one of those legion dudes either but I don't even want to go there and the only thing I can think of sounds crazy as fuck.

I assume you've logged Into accounts (Facebook, Gmail, etc) on your phone.

Any accounts compromised?

That's the thing no...nothing what so ever. This is odd. I just looked up spynote and the screen shots show that all you need is basic apk name knowledge to bind apps with a RAT so I'm pretty sketched bro...

RE: RAT - Bootlegronin47 - 11-16-2017

If I had a better understanding of how a RAT works I would get a good idea of what I'm working with

RE: RAT - Oblivious - 11-16-2017

not all "RAT's" work the same so it wouldn't be as easy to determine if you are ratted or not.
look into what you installed before your phone start malfunctioning and remove it.
after doing so run a scan using software like Icleaner to check for any residuals.
if this doesn't work I would recommend factory reset

Bro I did a factory reset and then later on today around 8 my phone started going up and down with the volume key. Smh How can it get in so fast if I didn't connect to Wi-Fi or install anything on my device???

That's the thing no...nothing what so ever.

This Is why I've asked the question whether any accounts have been compromised- to try and establish If It Is In fact a "RAT" causing the behavior you've mentioned. If I were the author of a RAT with malicious Intent, your account(s) would be the very first thing I'd take control of.

From what I've read so far, there's no conclusive Indication that your phone Is Infected, RAT or otherwise. It may well be that your apps are Infected with Adware (It's a commonality for cell phone apps), thereby redirections and pop-ups can be experienced, or any other variant.

Perform a scan and post the results. This will allow us to make an Informed analysis, hence provide assistance on a more accurate scale.
