How about Emarosa, or Dance Gavin Dance?

- Pink Floyd
- Opeth
- Dream Theater
- Porcupine Tree
- Mastodon

And Ive never seen anyone calling mealhead to a metalhead on 4chong.
Fun-fact: Dubstep is just effects extracted from metal, with added electronics > _>

Ah, I see!
They do it on /mu/, though.
Seriously? I bet no Dubstep fan would know that. Tongue Thus they are not true fans and they're bandwagon jumpers.

I don't want to create a war between musical tastes.
But yes, what attracts people in dubstep is always the effects, not the lyrics, not the melody. Mainly because tere isn't one.
The big thing about dubstep is just the drops, the heavy riffing, the hard bass and several tons of effects.
Those heavy riffing, bass effects and drops all came from metal music, they just added electronic sounds to it, and voilá, Dubstep ^^

The problem with electronic music, is that it can't express emotion. It's just dancing, music to dance, not to listen.

I could go on and on but i'll stop here, I don't want to create a genre war here ^^

I may have heard Emarosa once or twice before, not entirely sure. I listened to DGD socially a little while back.
I scrobble my Spotify, if you ever want my last.fm profile thing, give me a holler. *v*

You're not creating a "genre war" as you would call it. I merely see it as something to broaden their knowledge about music. Knowledge about music is essential if you are really into a certain kind of genre.

You should listen to Emarosa more often, haha. Sure, PM me yours and I'll add you.

RE: What's Your Genre? - Tree - 03-05-2013

I don't have one set genre that I listen to, my music library is pretty diverse. Right now I've been leaning more towards metal core and drumstep but I still do like classic rock, rap and metal.
