RE: The feels after finishing a show - Skullmeat - 03-19-2016

I just finished Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W.... really feeling the post anime blues here...

On a side note, I plan to do a in depth review of these 2 seasons very soon, so look out for that.

A show that really messed me up was Golden Time. I was crying for at least 30 minutes after I finished the last episode. But I have watched so many shows that had made me wished it was just not going to end, feel empty as hell after finishing anime like those and then you have like a day full of flashbacks about all the episodes it had.

I think they've called it "The Void" after you finish a show... It's sad TT_TT

I definitely feel like shit after finishing a great series.

The feeling after finishing Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso was certainly... something. Really great anime too.

The feeling after finishing an axed manga is mostly disappointment however. I can't count the amount of times a promising manga was either axed or rushed when it could have been so much more ;_;

I hadn't really thought about manga or when it's not what you expected. I hate that feeling of disappointment. I feel so invested in some shows and hate poor endings, or ones that have that lack of closure when you know there will be no more seasons...

I have to agree with you

If a show has a poor ending, it ruins the image of the show in my mind afterward. Like, "It was great until everything I expected to happen in the most boring way happened and that's it".

I haven't been getting much post-anime-depression these days, though. It's mostly like I finish a show and move on to the next one a few weeks later. Getting used to it.. Or maybe i'm watching the wrong stuff

I go through stages of it. Although, my life has been really hectic for the past few months so I've almost dropped it atm. I've got another month of my final year at Uni and then it'll all come flooding back I'm sure!

This is true

You get your soul back after Uni, along with any feelings it may have accrued

It's a mourning period. If the writer doesn't kill the characters, they all cease to exist after the last episode. Sad
