At that point they are already a member invested into the community and the quality of the community. And if someone is spamming 100 posts to get there it'll be easily detected. Yes I realize that, my post Is generally speaking for all members alike. I've registered on forums whereby members with hundreds of posts, are still very much of low quality. In such cases, It's simply the nature of the member- he/she cannot give what he/she doesn't have. Irrespective of the post count, If (for example) LQ posting results In a temporary ban, the Implementation of the [hide] tags may force members to post In a manner they're not comfortable with, hence may well produce a LQ reply. I said my post as if it was a statement, but I meant it as a suggestion if we were to use hide tags. Personally I'm not a fan of hide tags. There isn't much quality in a post concerning hide tags because every post usually has no content in which to reply to and then not many people come back to edit after the fact. Okay then, understood. All good. I'm not a fan of the [hide] tags, never have been and never will be. RE: Increase Traffic - OversouL - 09-05-2015 I'm not a fan of hide tags either, but if it will ever be implemented I suggest to please do this. Code: - Only allow hide tags in a specific section
- Turn off post count in that section
- Require 10 posts to post and access a hidden content, or let the member
who posted that hidden content decide how much posts he wants
in order for a member to post and see the content. In this way, new members are forced
to snoop around the forum and post on different sections before getting the free content
other members post. After the 10 posts they'll probably would have had a slightly good look
at the forum and they can decide to stay or not.
- Let Legends, Gold and higher usergroups see the hidden content without having to post. (Added Perks to upgrade)RE: Increase Traffic - LokiTran - 09-05-2015 I think u should forget it now . Sounds like a good way to do it i would say RE: Increase Traffic - mothered - 09-06-2015 (09-05-2015, 03:22 PM)OversouL Wrote: I'm not a fan of hide tags either, but if it will ever be implemented I suggest to please do this. You have some very good points here, particularly (In my views), only having the tags In specific forums and selected usergroups viewing the content. Good suggestions Indeed. Like mothered said, I agree . These suggestions could very well indeed help produce more traffic to the site. I hope to see a change here. This site deserves more than what it has. RE: Increase Traffic - Linuxephus™ - 09-08-2015 Eh... Doesn't SinisterLy have Search Engine Optimization enabled to assist in the "trafficking" mentioned here? P.S.-The inquiry is based upon searching Google for several key Members here (long standing) and no desirable results being returned (myself included). Footnote: The inquiry doesn't warrant a separate thread being made. RE: Increase Traffic - Oni - 09-08-2015 I'd be open to adding [hide] tags. ![]() This is slightly related: https://www.sinister.ly/Thread-Let-s-Have-More-Discussion-of |
