It's to do with the pixel size of the text, and how it's anti-aliased to be optimized for our viewing, there merely isn't enough pixels within the characters to be displayed 'well' on some screens. This won't be a problem for 1440p/4k monitors.

The site's been designed to work best for people with 1080p monitors. It works perfectly fine, even on my phone. I might make changes in the next theme update (which is soon), but have no plans to change it immediately.
