RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - Boss_CnC - 04-26-2013 I wrestle for my highschool, and WWE is very fake. I'm not talking about that kind of wrestling, like grappling, and jocking for position. I am referring to professional wrestling, with the story lines and all of that lol. Also, despite the outcomes of the matches already being pre-determined, sometimes the actual matches themselves don't actually go according to plan. The person that a wrestler is wrestling with has the option to be a jerk, and start hitting them for real if they want to, although this is really unprofessional, and would be an offense worth firing someone over. But it happens in pro wrestling. RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - aikolester - 04-26-2013 I dont think it's a sport, honestly? It seems more like a drama show than a wrestling match. A sport is when you compete, you dont really compete it in WWE cause.... well... its scripted.
RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - krismania - 04-28-2013 Haha, no I don't. It's an entertainment show which amuses me to no end. My favourite wrestler was and still is Stone Cold Steeve Austin, that guy is a freak. RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - Ruskin - 04-28-2013 Dreek Lass, I like your posts. I would have to say that WWE is not a sport because there is no contest. it is scripted and it has no competition, at the beginning of the match the contestants are not trying to beat the other wrestler according to skill and talent, but just to do what the script says. It is more of a Drama show, and if you watch a 3 hour program 45 minutes of it is wrestlers talking crap on other wrestlers and building up the drama. I can find it very entertaining to children, when I was young I loved WWE. I still have Jon Cena and Ray Mysterio action figures somewhere around here. RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - Aizen - 04-29-2013 By definition, pro wrestling is a sport. RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - Preside - 04-29-2013 A lot of people have said this, but NO we do not. It's more of a "play" than a sport. Because it is all fake, staged, and acting, it has nothing to do with sports. It only has one element which is the pretending to wrestle. High school and college wrestling is, however, a sport. Cheerleading is technically a sport but they are competing and do not know the outcome of meets unlike WWE. RE: Do You Consider WWE a Sport? - Sunlight - 04-30-2013 Not really a sport but it is just a show. |
