I'm not really scared of insects. I just think they're gross. Okay, they not gross to look at - on the contrary, they're rather cool and interesting. But when one decides to crawl on me when I'm not looking, or suicide into my drinking glass just before I take a sip...THEN they're gross. Other than that, they don't scare me.
Spiders do, though. I end up rather torn, as I hate killing them (or letting anyone else kill them) so when I come across one in the house I make someone gather it in a receptacle and let it go outside. I'm sure it immediately finds a way to run back inside, but at least I won't have spider death on my conscience...
