I started watching anime because of my cousin.
He was very in to anime and at first I didn't really like it, but as I got older it sort of grew on me.
Now I watch some anime shows that have more story than most blockbuster mob\vies now-a-days.

I used to watch anime without knowing it was anime when I was a kid, but then a friend recommended an anime series to me. I watched it and liked it and became an addict.

It was actually about year ago when I started. Unlike most of you, growing up I never had Dragonball or Naruto, I had cartoons like Scooby-Doo or Spongbob, which I honestly still watch today. So I never had Anime growing up like you guys, but last year I was hanging out with one of my online friends and she suggested I started watching Anime. She sent me over a list of shit I had to watch and that were her favorites. Most of them were Ecchi like Kiss x Sis or Kanokon. I started watching that and for quite a while she sent me a stream of Anime to watch, but eventually I couldn't watch it anymore as I started getting a lot of work at school and had to give up on Anime. This summer I actually went back to one of our old Skype chats to grab a Minecraft Password and I seen one of her lists and I got the idea of starting to watch Anime again. So I am still an Anime Noob, but over the course of about 5 months I have been watching Anime constantly! That is my (Anime) life story!

Around 2007 and 2008 I was trying to watch Naruto, and in one way it got me thrust into anime, but then an anime club started in my high school in 2009, and I went there every week, and this club helped me, so to say, expand my horizons, watching anime like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (or whatever), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, SOUL EATER...
but my library also had some stuff (some classics like Neon Genesis Evangelion), and I was renting whatever they had, but their anime DVDs were being circulated, so there are some things that would disappear, then one or two years later, boom, they're there.
