When i purchased the vps, i was not expecting a premium vps hosting server. I would think anyone expecting that would be crazy. But its a good little server for development or tinkering around. Or hell, just for security 12$ a year is a great price for a private vpn that you have full control over. No questions about if they log this or that either. RE: Cheap VPS! Lifetime Offer! - godtheonlytruth - 11-09-2013 Thank You Geoff I was hesitant just because last post on HC was more than 2 weeks ago about this topic. So was curious and wanted to have most recent feedback from someone trust worthy and having first hand experience. Will go for it now ![]() Thanks n Regards RE: Cheap VPS! Lifetime Offer! - godtheonlytruth - 11-09-2013 Geoff Can you please provide me some stats about available resources when the ubuntu is running speccially free memory available. Actually I want to use it as VPN and do some Django based web development. So I have to decide whether to go for 512MB or 1GB memory. Will appreciate your advice and help. Thanks RE: Cheap VPS! Lifetime Offer! - The Real Slim Shady - 11-09-2013 Quote:top - 06:48:07 up 16 days, 23:34, 1 user, load average: 0.13, 0.09, 0.19 looks like im using about 50% of my memory. Im running just OpenVPN and and ZNC (An IRC bouncer) but thats it. its a little higher than i expected but the bulk of it seems to be vmtoolsd. When i get around to it ill probably get a development environment up and running. Oh and im running CentOS, not Ubuntu. Its kinda weird but all my servers run CentOS, and all my home computers run a version of Ubuntu lol. I guess the reasoning is that i was using centos/redhat on my servers long before i switched over to linux at home. and when i did that i went with ubuntu. lol RE: Cheap VPS! Lifetime Offer! - godtheonlytruth - 11-09-2013 Thanks Geoff for the top dump and other info ![]() Even the 512MB looks really good for some tinkering and playing around. |
