Not sure if external scanning limits are something new to Nessus but without that it makes nessus less fun to play with.
Ill be happy to pay for it when i can though seems like a nice tool.

Question. How does OpenVAS compare to nessus? is nessus way ahead of OpenVas or are they fairly similar?

I think that you want to update the policy section though as home edition now has 8 default templates.

[edit] And internal/external policys are in "New Basic Network Scan Policies"

When I installed Nessus in my Microsoft OS they asked for the activation key as mentioned. But in order to register they require a workplace email id... Is there any way to acquire the key without providing the workplace e-mail?
