Personally if you ask me i'll say Linux is over hyped and the fact that it doesn't run any "virus" is completely untrue, there are viruses specially compiled for linux. If you are a gamer you cannot play your favorite games on the os just some of the games made for linux. People say Linux is highly configurable and you can "develop" it further, answer me honestly how many real programmers are there that can develop Linux further for own good?

Coming to hacking, you can run most of the stuff on Windows that you can run on Linux, I've seen some real badass hackers who have found vulnerabilities in some good famous sites and they don't use any other OS than Windows. Backtrack is the only useful thing you might find as a hacker since it has most of the "hacking" stuff configured and ready to use.

I'm not saying Linux not a good OS just saying its not a better os than Windows both have their own benefits and drawbacks.

Linux is better because you can make scripts on the fly to do anything plus all modules are pre installed for ruby python and perl all the good hacker languages.

trust that most tools been allready configured does not still make it better than windows..like he earlier stated both have their good and bad side.. for example running a server like php.. its more easier to bypass linux php security to windows.. again people saying linux is not infectable is a big i mean too big lies.. there are loads of specific codes out there specialy targeted at linux machines.. so when it turns back to the real topic question.. ill say it depends on what you intend doing and which best suits you.. am in love with backtrack 4, but i still my windows xp close

Linux all the way.
It CAN be infected by viruses. BUT. If you are careful. It will prob not.

I agree, it is hard for your average user... But ubuntu is pretty user-friendly.

Smile

RE: Linux VS Windows - d'ZheNwaY - 10-21-2011

for hacking activities I prefer to use linux than on windows

because we can more freely in hacking, no longer need to fear the virus will be contained within our backdoor

in its use easier

Windows graphic quality is better than Linux and can run lots of games. But I prefer linux to windows, because there is open source in linux, it is free and every "volunteer'' can run it. You can download it through the web.
