Maybe a poll would declare things on a fair side? Whether or not to do a reputation reset, that is.

Everybody that has a lot of rep would just vote no due to the fact they want to keep all their rep. I honestly couldn't care less but like Oni said, a lot of people assign too much value to the amount of rep they have on their account.

I think that's exactly why we should just do a poll, because it'll just be straight numbers on who wants to keep their reputation versus who wants a reset or just don't care. There are many reasons why it's beneficial and detrimental for both sides.

I think it's beneficial to have a rep reset more incentive to donate.

Hopefully this poll isn't overwhelmed by new members who don't care of the past here and just vote yes because they have nothing to lose voting no, and voting yes just puts them on everyone's level.
I voted no and my opinion is already spread out through this thread.
A change to the amount repped to +1 and -1 seems to be a much fairer way to handle things for all members. But I won't lose sleep if we were all reset I just don't agree with the reasoning.
