Yeah but even if you had the blueprints, would the people of the time be able to make the parts? Or even understand the blueprints? It's a whole an other topic as to whether the people of the time would accept it or seem you a witch and burn you. Eh, I don't have any idea about the first part, would hope so though, if not I'd still be rich of the lottery numbers and shit I'd take back anyway so no huge worries, and I don't think 100 years ago people were still burning witches? RE: Time Travel: Future or Past? - MiS - 08-13-2014 I wonder if anyone would take the Butterfly Effect theory into question when they travel back in time to change the future, or the effects of unintended consequences. For example, bumping into someone in the past which would make them miss a stoplight, making them miss an important meeting by minutes that determined the effects of a company that would develop a certain technology. The slight things we do in every day actions can determine huge things impacted later on. There's also the possibility of an unchanging timeline, where certain effects of attempting to change the past will always end with the same result. If this was the case, it could maybe explore the chances of time travel actually existing in the future, but why we haven't seen any travelers in the present or past. I guess you could call it "fate", for a lack of better words. Even a .0000001 offset will change who was born thus changing everything. If time travel will ever be possible, it will be across dimensions. But I guess the law enforcement wouldn't look twice either. So in other words, if it was a "unchanging" linear timeline, then the universe itself would try to eliminate you? :o (08-13-2014, 08:28 AM)Adorapuff Wrote: Going back in time even 2 decades and bumping into someone will fuck up a LOT of family timelines and technology. But it's not certain it will have a large effect like, say you bump into me going to school and stop me to talk. I would miss school, but it wouldn't really have any other impact, would it? Though you're right. it could have apocalyptic effects RE: Time Travel: Future or Past? - MiS - 08-13-2014 (08-13-2014, 12:52 PM)cr33pyguy Wrote: So in other words, if it was a "unchanging" linear timeline, then the universe itself would try to eliminate you? :o It's a possibility. If you've ever seen that one Twilight Zone episode or Steins;Gate, those sum it up pretty well. RE: Time Travel: Future or Past? - Erza Scarlet - 08-13-2014 I would definitely travel to the past, so that I would know some information to make me rich. OR I would travel to the future when they have invented time travel and get all their technology and bring it back to the present and sell it to the US military.

Why the US military of all things ;_; we're all doomed now. RE: Time Travel: Future or Past? - Erza Scarlet - 08-13-2014 Cause I would be rich and invincible and I wouldn't care what happened to you. This is my evil show in lmfao RE: Time Travel: Future or Past? - MiS - 08-13-2014 (08-13-2014, 05:36 PM)Erza Scarlet Wrote: I would definitely travel to the past, so that I would know some information to make me rich. I'm American and even that thought makes me cringe. At least go for the highest bidder! |
