RE: Lifehacks and infothread. - Equinox - 06-03-2014 I guess I'll throw another one out. This is aimed towards pets. - Pets (in general) When washing your pet, it's a good idea to cover their eyes, even if you aren't using soap to wash them. If you have a small pet, say no bigger than 2 feet in length/height, make the water come out in the smallest amount as possible, yet at a good speed. This saves money, and you'd be surprised by how much. - Pets (Specifically geckos) And since I have a gecko, here's something for other gecko owners. Don't play with your gecko too much. They are very relaxed most of the time, when they are messed around with too much, it scares them. You can play with it every now and then, but if you do, don't make it run or anything like that. Let it free in your room on your bed or something. Keep good watch of them, too. They are fast when they want to be. Also, don't hold them in positions that fold their body, such as making them hold on to your thumb but their lower body half is pretty much bent like a piece of paper. This hurts them, and you will know because of the small clicking-like sound that they make. And don't freak out if they bite you. If they bite you in the first place, it;s probably because they are defending themselves. They think you might be a threat. Refer to the above advice. RE: Lifehacks and infothread. - cr33pyguy - 06-03-2014 Health When sitting down at an office or at home, get up and walk around the room/up & down the stairs every half-an-hour to every hour, this is likely to reduce your stress, back damage and high blood pressure/cholesterol When watching TV, or sitting by the computer, look further away (about 20 metres distance) every half an hour. This will help "zero out" your eyes, and helps prevent seeing damage. Also, remember to blink, that's where the redness of your eyes comes from after you sit at the computer too much. RE: Lifehacks and infothread. - MiS - 06-11-2014 Hygiene - Wash your hands as soon as possible after handling money. It's one of the most common contaminants that can get transferred around, and you have no idea how many less-than-healthy people might have handled it before you. - Keep a handkerchief on your person. Not only will you look slightly more sophisticated, it's a godsend for coughing, wiping your nose, or cleaning something out of your eye. - Don't cough or sneeze into your hands, for obvious reasons. Instead, cover your mouth with your arm when possible. - Clean your nails (i.e. spotless underneath) and keep them shortened to a decently sized length. People will notice if they're unkempt even if they don't say anything, and all that dirt and bacteria will get into your foods if you touch them with your fingers at all. - In case you don't already do this, washing your face before going to bed and first thing in the morning will help greatly with keeping a clean face and more importantly, prevent pimples.
