This pretty much sums up all child-like behavior now a days.

And this is why video games get blamed for all the violence now days.

Well the FBI is tracking down the hoax caller. Let's hope that he didn't know what he was doing.
Also, a very similar to the first one New York Post article on the FBI involvement can be found here

I don't know who would use a VPN to play Call of Duty, it's very possible to track him. Depends how much resources they want to put in it. But swatting will forever be honored!

(Probably until someone dies... but that hasn't happened yet.)

Although the reasons have the most weight..

Whoever swatted Brian Kerbs, deserves a medal.

Swatting because you lost in a retarded game, is pretty sad.

RE: Kid swatted over Call Of Duty - Contingency - 04-28-2014

Surely they can just track his ACC name?

If you want to swat someone you should be prepared to kill. Either your target, or his mom or dog. It hasn't happened yet as far as I know, but we read about unstable cops with guns all the time. Murdering people over the internet is quite a thing, but using it for call of duty is retarded.

They wouldn't know for sure who did it. They'd have to contact the developer/console company for logs of the games and the voice communications of them. Then, see if any of those accounts would match up with whoever is looking up his name and info. Contact Google to get search histories for multiple people. The better way of doing it is going backwards from the phone call.

I've never heard of someone murdering another over the internet.
Makes you more weary about who you're fucking with.

Because you don't hear about it.

I highly doubt any legal reprecussions will occur. Easy for the agressor to provide reasonable doubt.

If only it were that simple.
