You will get an invite to a Beta, usually runs on weekends, and you can play for that duration and then it's over. Sometimes they re-invite you though.

If you guys would have been quick, Curse.com was giving out keys last Thursday until Saturday. Now you have to apply, and I had to wait over 4 months for my Beta invite,so by the time you get invited there won't be anymore Beta Tests.

My second beta profile got its key in like a week after applying. You must not have had the hardware they were looking for at the time.

A lot of betas don't.
When they were doing Closed Beta for WoW:MoP, they were looking for people with crap computers to figure out the baseline requirements for a good portion of the testing.
From what I hear they're doing the same thing with WoD expac, since it introduces completely redesigned graphics.

Reason I always get into betas early, lesser download times, then you just download patches instead.
Does it tell you what speed you're getting?

It's just ISP having outages because testing servers for some legal reason.
Still getting somewhat of service, but only like 300kb/ps

Your ISP sounds suckish.
You may just want to pause the download, then resume it when they're done testing.
