I was the same at a young age.

In terms of fearing water Itself, I learned to swim rather late In my teens, which built my confidence level to the point of overcoming my fear In Its entirety.

I live alone, so being injured/incapacitated in some way and being unable to call for help. It is for this reason I keep my cell phone on me or near me at all times.

I fully understand your position.

The problem Is, you cannot take your cell phone with you In the shower and If the Incident happens there, there's no access to the phone In the next room. Although suited to the elderly, an SOS panic button alarm Is the way to go. It's worn around the neck at all times whilst at home, and Is fully waterproof.
