RE: Microsoft's Windows Turned 35 - Pr0blemZ - 04-01-2021 Yes we are at that expotentail curv and perhaps not far from the next huge novelty point RE: Microsoft's Windows Turned 35 - RNixon5000 - 04-01-2021 Hardware-wise we've progressed a lot (quad core cpus, ssds) as was mentioned before. Software-wise though it seems that we are at a less user-friendly point than we've ever been. For example, windows 10 added apps to the start menu and now there's a weird mix of programs and apps. The complexity is so bad that people try to install classic shell and/or open shell to resort back to the older menus. We see the same in cars now too. There are so many software controls with over-complicated menus that you need to work at NASA just to be able to maneuver through the screens. They have people called UX Designers that are supposed to look at human factors when designing these things but it seems as they are less skilled at doing this than 30 years ago. RE: Microsoft's Windows Turned 35 - lionelvidal - 04-05-2021 Yea Vista was terrible, as was ME. I do miss Windows 7 and 95 at times RE: Microsoft's Windows Turned 35 - mothered - 04-05-2021 (04-05-2021, 01:12 AM)lionelvidal Wrote: Yea Vista was terrible, as was ME.Personally, I didn't experience any significant Issues with Vista, but Windows ME was a complete failure. Very unstable and unresponsive. |
