Same.

When you make errors, do you find It quicker to backspace and complete the entire word again, rather than placing your mouse and correcting It? I certainly do.

Regarding that question, both. When I realise the mistake right after the word, I backspace/ sometimes shift+control+left arrow(select the last word) and retype.
Or, If I realise it after the sentence/ realise it when i proofread my writing, I directly click to edit, however, I double click on it, to select the whole word.

Whilst I'm typing and notice the error there and then, It's a lot quicker for me to backspace and retype the word(s).

In terms of proofreading, I definitely agree with you.

Quote:Mines 93 WPM (just checked now). I've always considered myself fairly quick at typing but want to see how I compare to other sinister users.

Sidenote : I actually don't have a W key on my laptop keyboard so I have to just push in the little metal plate (even the sticky thing has gone , probably a better word for that but yk).

It depends on how much fast you have to be.
For me - it can be even 100 ... if I know that I need to make it really fast (some jobs from CEO).

That was definitely after a lot of practice. By the way, if anyone wants to practice against other people try https://play.typeracer.com

Yes, this was indeed after quite some practice. I have also achieved this typing speed on a mechanical keyboard. I can't achieve it on my laptop.

My typing speed is around 110wpm if i try lol

My normal typing speed is 160 but it varies during the course of the day. I still haven't got the knack of typing numbers at good speed, which reduces my average speed.

Started at 30 when I was 14 now after 7 years the max I did was 147 wpm.

RE: What's your type speed? - DragonyCat - 08-14-2021

Just tested it: 79 WPM.

This was waaay worse, some years ago. I had like 60. I didn't like testing it with other, because it was like a pressure for me; to compete, to show that I was "worse".
But I'm alone rn so it was easier.

RE: What's your type speed? - mothered - 08-15-2021

Mine Is now averaging around 100 WPM.

My speed also depends on how I'm feeling during the day - hardly any sleep reduces It.

Fast AF, approximately 120 GWAM w/0%, give or take, it's been awhile since I've tested but I can type what you're saying as you're saying it. One thing I became even more epic at is 10-key, I've had two jobs that were nothing but 10-key all day, one was on a computer and the other one was with a big old-looking calculator strapped to my leg, I was prodigious. I can knock out 12,000 KPH w/0% error all day. Not trying to boast but I'm just really fast, learned young and been doing it all my life.
