Although, I was about 13 my first time. I would have traded anything to be at the same school or within as close proximity to my old friends. I will say I felt off for what felt like a long time. I actually didn't even notice the moment when that feeling stopped. I just realised I didn't feel so strange about it when I looked back after a year or two. It faded without me noticing it. That's a discussion for the far future lol. I wanna take a long long long break from formal education after this next year. I ask because I've noticed many of them these days are only a year to 16 months. I've been thinking about a PhD down the road but I figured if I'm going to dedicate another 4 years, I might as well go all the way across the country at least. Wow I did not proof read that post before I sent. Apologies. That's fair. I went straight through formal education with no breaks. Literally only had a few weeks between finishing the undergrad, and starting the masters. Looking back, a break would have been very welcome. I also believe I would have achieved better grades had I been a little older. RE: Moving - Defeat - 05-31-2019 Landed both a contract and a part-time job here. I can say it's turned out for the better 5 months later. RE: Moving - Oni - 06-01-2019 (05-31-2019, 11:26 PM)Strait McCool Wrote: Landed both a contract and a part-time job here. Can't really comment on that yet tbh, even though I'm on break from school, I still mostly stay at home to go to work and go back to the old city when I have time off. I'm slowly checking out the places here. I think I know the main roads pretty well now but not so much the entertainment. That's something I still gotta go out and explore RE: Moving - Thebear124 - 06-14-2019 Change isn't always easy to deal with and is going to take time to adapt to. But you will. You get accustomed to things a certain way day to day. RE: Moving - mothered - 06-15-2019 (05-31-2019, 11:26 PM)Strait McCool Wrote: Landed both a contract and a part-time job here. I'd recommend going somewhere for the uni and it's resources if you're look at PhDs eventually. Please review our rules about gravedigging - I will let it slide for now as this was a nice post. OP - It's been many more months down the line since your last post on the matter, I hope you're still feeling that the move worked out well. Have you gotten to know the new local area better now? I have some low back pain from a gym injury so the drives to school are not great but other than that I've settled in quite nicely. I've made plenty of friends here so it's less lonely when I don't feel like driving much.(11-11-2019, 02:00 PM)capitanPatel Wrote:(05-13-2019, 09:12 PM)Strait McCool Wrote: That's a discussion for the far future lol.
