the XPS 13 is good for school but if you want to venture into the Applesphere, their new Apple Macbook Air without intel is quite fast.

Also I want to go for the point that @mothered made earlier, because I have also been saying similar things before,
it is usually better to buy overkill, than to buy a computer that is slightly sub-par to the computer budget you had before.
Because the quality will be what matters. I bought a computer for like $1000 once, and it wasnt even gaming-tier,
imagine playing computer games on a normal work-oriented computer basically made for checking your mail and all that.
And sometimes, well, you might have it work for two or three years. But these heavyweight titles tend to last for an avarage of maybe ~7-8 years.

So in the long run, you profit from buying a quality product.
You could even consider sliding a couple 100-dollars into the budget, you wont be disappointed Wink
