As mentioned, there Is a portable version available that does not require Installation, hence no changes are made to your system.

The official site does not provide the download, but this website does. It's a renowned/trusted site that's been around for many years.

I do have It on my external HDD, but locating It Is an Issue, so I'm hitting the download now and shall provide a screenshot with It's memory consumption.

GIMP is alright. I normally don't support proprietary software, but Photoshop is much easier to use in my opinion, and seems to have far more features.

I've tried to use GIMP a couple times and it might just be me but I absolutely struggle trying to navigate the UI. I can't even find the setting to change the thickness of a brush and this absolutely blows my mind. Confused

If you're looking for alternatives to Photoshop, there are cracks for Affinity Designer/Photo. Not sure if it'll work for you.
