You have so much operating systems on the left bar.
Can I ask why?

Due to the nature of tasks performed on my VMs, they go down quickly (Infected etc), so by the time I locate, mount and configure the backup VHD, I continue my work on the other(s).

You'll notice that one VM Is my IDS- actively monitoring my network/traffic for potential Intrusions.

Just from reading that, I'm already hooked. Do you build a VM, then clone it?
For your IDS VM, is it running win 10 or?

Everything Is configured from scratch- security rules defined, permissions set, threat & Intelligence monitoring, voice-activated alerts (and generated via SMTP gateways) and the list goes on.

The IDS Is CentOS based.

Agree.

However, this IDS Is not a straightforward Installation & setup, particularly when It running via a VM. Various network bridges need to be configured, along with mapping IPs (non-routable/Internal/local) and then the fun part of configuring permissions, rules (blacklists & whitelists) etc specific to your network.

Got 980ti for 325

this may not be fair but i have nothing to go by other than my windows machine and its rating at 7.8 for overall... and i have a 960 and an i5... so id have to say you are at least an 8.5 Smile

idk if thats really a good ballpark though.

Thanks! I kinda wish I went for the extra 100$ for the i7 though, I can cap out or nearly cap out with daily tasks like bf4 and youtube and a few other things going like a hack and some music but i cap out around 80% ... the only time i was pegged to 100% was in benchmarks or hacking with the cpu. I couldnt imagine the 8 core with HT though... omg, that would be so sweet!!! and the gpu... a 980 or 1080 would be a dream! Smile

If you're referring to the Windows Experience Index rating, It's not an accurate measure of your overall system performance.

It's best to benchmark your system.
