I've read Ghost in the Wires and its definitely a great book. Definitely need to read the other two present in this thread. I have also read Ghost In The Wires around 5 years ago (periodically at work during my breaks), and must say I enjoyed It from start to finish. I've previously researched Tsutomu Shimomura, the computational physicist and (at the time) one of the US leading experts In computer security technology. He was actually responsible for tracking Mitnick that subsequently lead to his arrest and conviction. Shimomura's background Is quite Impressive. RE: Kevin Mitnick At His Best - Plug - 03-02-2018 Really cool story. I watched many more videos after seeing this one and they are so interesting. The way he can just get out of any situation, except prison I guess but still. RE: Kevin Mitnick At His Best - phyrrus9 - 03-02-2018 (03-02-2018, 09:38 PM)Plug Wrote: Really cool story. If you liked this, you should watch Takedown: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0159784/ It's about Mitnick and another guy set in the 90's, true story (mostly) RE: Kevin Mitnick At His Best - Plug - 03-03-2018 (03-02-2018, 11:07 PM)phyrrus9 Wrote:(03-02-2018, 09:38 PM)Plug Wrote: Really cool story. I will definitely check this out, shame it's not on Netflix. It's easily found on Kodi and TPB RE: Kevin Mitnick At His Best - mothered - 03-03-2018 (03-02-2018, 11:07 PM)phyrrus9 Wrote:(03-02-2018, 09:38 PM)Plug Wrote: Really cool story. At a guess, I'd say I've watched Takedown 5 times and (obviously) really enjoyed It. Skeet Ulrich assumed the role of Kevin Mitnick very well Indeed. Many call it the sequel to the 1995 film "Hackers" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113243/), and I think it's a fitting title. On a more on topic note, but still about the film, I think that movie very well embodies the way that Mitnick thinks and how he operated back then. So many stories have accounts of superuser like hackers who navigate their way through a firewall in no seconds flat with some random python script that has some fancy output, but the film showed how great minds like Mitnick actually got down to the root art that is social engineering, and it's absolutely beautiful. Not that I have the time nowadays, but Takedown Is a movie I could watch many times over without getting bored. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Tsutomu Shimomura (himself) made a very brief appearance on Takedown. I also dislike far-fetched movies, they take away the nature/reality of what the movie supposed to portray. RE: Kevin Mitnick At His Best - gibbio - 10-24-2024 oh yeah thats cool bit somehow Is very working abount the last happening in yapping |
