Its very easy to find used cisco products on ebay for cheap. You can pick up a 2960 managed switch for $25.

Good choice with RAID 10, particularly with high-end performance. How do you find It's scalability?

I went with 10 solely for the performance. I'd like to have gone with RAID50, but this box doesn't have enough disks Sad

It's understandable with performance, hence my previous comment "particularly with high-end performance". Again, good move.

You've met the 4 disk requirement (as a minimum) for RAID 10, and I'd be Interested to see how It performs with scalability (growth) If and when the need arises.

Unfortunately I won't be able to find out, this box/controller only supports 4 drives

All good, thank you.

Just thought I'd ask.

Update: I've got NAT/port forwarding to work if the request comes from the outside internet, but not from inside. same prize awarded to whoever can fix it

Seen it on discord when you posted there.
Do you really need two switches? If so, for what purpose?

I so look forward to a time where I too have a networking closet.

I love the cable management.

This is only stage 1 of the transition. I've still gotta migrate the rest of the house over to this closet.
