Main reason is due to lack of being able to remember Japanese (written in roman letting) naming of shows (having known the roman written version of Japanese - not English- titles - so now some show names are lost on my records until I run into them again)

By roman numeral do you mean kanji?

Roman lettering aka romanji aka the English alphabet.

That's indeed right. I would call it the English alphabet, but English aren't the only people using it Wink

I'm exactly the same. I probably would have kept up with it if I'd started using it when I started watching anime. Not sure if either were around or not back then xD

Edit: Some trivia for you, MAL came out in 2004.

I've used MAL for years now, way before Kitsu was probably even conceptualized as an idea - I tried Kitsu out, but I used it when it was still relatively new, and I just couldn't get used to it, so I ended up just going back to MAL. Funny thing, the same exact thing happened with hummingbird...

Nowadays, I can't even be bothered to even update my MAL, considering I can count on one hand the number of shows I've watched this year.

I use Kitsu because it looks better Biggrin
Like seriously I don't have any other reasons for using it instead of MAL

Curious what people are using now. At this point, I only use Kitsu.

Got locked out of my MAL, so I recently switched to https://anilist.co/
List still isn't finished yet, since I need to either import (somehow my MAL became private so no), or remake it manually (bleh).

I use MAL and dont have any issues with it, aside from the troll reviews , which are to be expected anywhere you go.

To be honest I've only used MAL, I haven't really looked into any other websites.

I prefer MAL, because as you already said, the database is definitely more fuller of reviews and oldies. Kitsu is good for new anime watchers I suppose, but if you're looking to elongate your anime watching experience(for years) I'd suggest MAL
