Kodi can be run on your Android just started as easy. I've used it for years you can customize your build. Install the ares wizard by source at http://ares-project.ue or go to their website at https://ares-project.uk and browse the builds. Pulse is second to none. All add-ons are updated except for Exodus it's main developer has left the project and no more updates will be available. Now the other developer's of Exodus ha e started a new add-on called covenant same look as Exodus but it is being updated daily. Now you know the big fight is coming up and pulse has got you with so many pay per view add-ons  integrated in there builds just remember to always use your VPN to avoid a letter in the mail or a block from your ISP. Cheer's

The process was as simple as:
Code:
apt-get install kodi

I should've been a bit more clearer with my post.

Once the file has already been downloaded and executed, I was more so referring to the "Installation" process thereafter. I'm basing this on the Windows platform. Thank you both for your feedback, It's given me a general Idea of what's Involved. I've downloaded the file (80MB) for Windows and shall try It later tonight.

Linux distros are quite different in this matter.

In most cases, you run a single command and everything is downloaded and installed for you. All that's left is getting add-ons or configuring the settings to fit your preferences.

It is almost the same Kodi is just a platform and by itself it is quite boring the builds are like Linux everything is prepackaged and you tweak it here and there to speed it up and get rid of shit that has no interest to you the user. Or you can go the way and build it from scratch which is fine but you will have to keep up on all the updates and source changes on your own.

No built in updater?

Building from scratch takes like 3-4 commands.

It has a built in up dater but without a build you will have to tick auto updates for each add-on witch is a one time deal but a lot of these sources change domains without telling you so your add-on will just crash untill you figure it out but the ares project has all of you add-ons and more and they do all that shit for you to a point.

If you are using Exodus it is no longer the main developer has moved on the other devs of Exodus have started a new add-on called covenant and it is updated daily.

I used to run kodi on my Raspberry pi. Its only issue is it can be a bit clunky at times.

When I was running my BT (BackTrack) box many years ago, I do remember exactly this.

I love working with the CLI/Terminal/Console, and although the GUI (In some Instances) could also be used In BT , I tried to avoid It where possible.
