You don't want Windows because of virus?

I snickered.

Why are you against the prospect of using Debian? It's generally my first recommendation, followed by Arch. Unfortunately, Arch is bleeding edge, so that really wouldn't be a good pick for you.

What really matters, is how foolish the end-user is. Malware exists on every OS. Anyone that's kidding themselves is likely a better target.

LOL, so out of all those Distros, only Debian based ones have LTS of 5+ years? WOW!!!!

Arch (as well as Kali, fun fact) is rolling release, so I don't know why it was suggested for this.

If LTS is that big of an issue, RHEL and CentOS have support cycles of 10 years since version 5 (and both are on 7 now).

I'll explain to you why.

"looking for any other Distro that isn't Debian based or Debian that actually has Long Term Support of atleast 5 or more years per release"

Except OP was looking for LTS, and for Arch the only support to speak of is the bbs forum.

EDIT: you can install the linux-lts kernel package, but it doesn't come standard. Plus, that's a far cry from system-wide support.

I hate to add to the echo chamber but you don't need to fix something that isn't broken, therefor there is no need to update every time there's an update.

The issue is that tech moves quickly. Even windows has regular updates. Whats wrong with a patch here and there?

From my experience when something needs a patch every week and that is concidered normal, then that distro at it's original stock installation is going to have a shit load of bugs. That's why I don't like this rolling releases, cause if you don't have internet access you are propbably doomed.
