Shouldn't it already be accurate since...the people decide who they rep?
Just because the rep gets reset doesn't stop people from false repping people. What if i -repped Oni rn. Omg worse admin he has -rep :ooo
Think outside the box, If i repped someone two years ago for beinga trusted seller & someone new took that into account.
Anything can happen in two years, he/she could be the oppisite of a trusted seller.
Overall its a benifit to the community, this way newer members will have an accurate & more upto date image of people here.

That, and I think it gives a good emphasis on some of our newer members. I made it a point to go through and rep our current top posters, so they have a good start.

I had 200+ rep, yes it took along time to obtain it all.
You got to think of the community before yourself, hence why im certain that @mothered would be perfectly fine with the idea.

This is such a good way to look at it. Many of the people on the leaderboard were either people we no longer trust or who haven't been around for years. I know it sucks for newer members who feel like they're putting in a lot of effort to get rep to have it taken away, but it's been YEARS since it was last reset . It's very unlikely to be reset in the near future.
Also, with the reset it reminds people of the rep system and you may end up with even more!

Haha, you gained even more rep after the reset, that just went to prove my point. I totally understand, but trust me, you have more of a chance to reach that leader board now there isn't a bunch of dead, outdated, highly repped members to get past
Plus, your rep means more now too!

This is depressingly true. I had a neg rep from somebody with no posts, who I didn't know and have never spoken to and this was a pretty common occurrence for members. It's good to have those purged too.
